Apache Avalon
Avalon retired in November 2004 and the move to the Attic was completed in May 2011.
Avalon provided Java software for component and container programming and pioneered the use of design patterns such as Inversion of Control (IoC) and Separation of Concerns (SoC).
Avalon was closed down in 2004, long before the creation of the Apache Attic. It's mentioned here for completeness.
